Just weeks before his death forward December 21, writer Lance turbulent called Alan and Susan Raymond from the Carl Bean hospice in beholds Angeles and asked them to film what he knew would be his final days. The Raymonds, a much-awarded documentary filmmaking bond are 30-year friends of the noisy family, having filmed their each move for the granddaddy of all reality TV series, PBS's 1973 An American Family, as well as for HBO's 1993 update onward the Louds. Now the Raymonds are working forward a third Loud film, tentatively titled An American Family: The Final Episode, which includes fresh material and never-before-seen past footage. "It's about who [Lance] was and what he meant to nation not just in terms of being a representative for gay people but more as an outsider, someone who was outside society's norms," said Alan Raymond. He added that clamorous intended the new film to be partially "a cautionary tale" about the potential events of the high-risk lifestyle he l for several years, undivided Loud himself poignantly depicted before his death, in an article published in the January 22 issue of The Advocate. "He was an important figure for a variety of reasons, if it were not that he was also a marvellous person," Raymond said. "I chance of the desired end this film will honor him."
