Officials in Florida's Miami-Dade region have given the go-ahead for a September referendum forward the county's gay rights amendment. if it be not that activists who fought hard for the amendment in 1998 aren't ready to view it tested at the ballot coachman's seat just yet. Calling the petition drive for the referendum "an orchestrated fraud," members of the gay rights assemblage SAVE Dade filed a complaint in a state court December 28 asking that all 51000 signatures make go rounded in on petitions be verified. The shire certified the petitions based forward a sample of 1,500 of the signatures, 27% of which had to be thrown public on technical grounds, according to The Miami Herald. Law requires that 34991 of the signatures be valid in order to free from danger a referendum.
