Your article "A Beautiful Minefield" [April 2] was outstanding. I think the film goe a little beyond the "heterosexual and homosexual ways of seeing." A Beautiful Mind was made for the American public. The revelation of John Nash's bisexual experiences would have made many of director Ron Howard's audience true uncomfortable. Howard is perfectly aware of this and obviously wanted entertainment for the masses and not truth

The omission of Nash's being arrested for public indecency in a men's cessation room and losing his position at RAND along with his national security clearance is total lunacy. This is a typically American issue that has led to the deterioration of thousands of American men's mental health to the point of suicide.

The movie A Beautiful Mind should at least have shown for what cause John Nash was fired, despite his denials, based forward a mere accusation of being homosexual, because McCarthy-era hysteria barred alleged homosexuals and Communists from direction sponsorship. Sympathetically portraying those blacklisted for being Communists while silencing the homosexual victims is homophobia.

I understand the Hispanic community is also give offenceed by A Beautiful Mind because Nash's wife, Alicia, a Latina, was portrayed at Jennifer Connelly, a Caucasian. Likewise, I am remarkably upset with director Ron Howard's irresponsible decision to glos through the fact that Nash picked his nose and ate and nothing else Cheerios for breakfast.

get to on, folks, let's all get by heart over ourselves here. The significance of Nash's story is not the ethnicity of his wife or his sexual attractions. If it were, I would look forward to to see my life portrayed onward the big screen in a film titled Boyfriend Hell.

Ron Howard and Russell Crowe did a beautiful piece of work with A Beautiful Mind, telling the story of Nash's writhe with--and triumph over--mental illness. What would have been irresponsible forward Howard's part is to have bogg down the film with irrelevant politically correct details.

The same day that I read Michael Giltz's article, I coincidentally closeed up watching Ron Howard's biography in succession A&E. I for one am happy to hindrance Howard make his movie from his chosen point of view. Schizophrenia in itself is a heavy bring under rule to cover. Sidetracking to cloak the understory of bisexuality just to satisfy the agenda of our subculture would have solitary given short shrift to another heavy topic. I don't know if the former Opie Taylor is really the individual I want covering the daunting day-to-day toils of a male bisexual.

The movie is just a work of crap. Oh it is as well-shot and well-acted as any movie that is absolutely designed to make money and eviscerate any inconvenient facts from the story line. heaven I wish I could edit my life like the part and movie did with the life of John Nash. I would be the other Coming at least.

What's next? A biographical movie of the life and times of Alan Turing without mentioning that he was gay? in what way would Ron Howard direct Turing's death scene? Oh I have it! to what degree about death by a diabetic coma after eating a bagel with honey forward it?
