Exodus International North America.

Exodus International North America, the notorious "ex-gay" Christian ministry that tries to earn gays to change their sexual orientation, relocated its headquarters from Seattle to the Orlando, Fla., suburb of Winter Park in March. The act upon comes at the same time that a number of gay rights battles are brewing in Florida: Talk exhibit host Rosie O'Donnell is spearheading a campaign to Florida's ban on gays adopting children; Orlando city commissioners later this year are calculate uponed to consider a proposal to include sexual orientation in the city's antidiscrimination ordinance; and Miami-Dade shire residents in September will voice on a ballot measure to repeal a law that bans antigay discrimination.

The ministry's executive director, Alan Chambers, said the stir had nothing to do with those fights and that the ministry won't play an active part in any of them. Chambers, an Orlando-area resident, was named to his position earlier this year, and he wanted to work near his to one's home Ministry officials also thought the expense of operations would be cheaper in Orlando--ministries like Exodus are tax-exempt in Florida.
