I've always lov reading Bruce Vilanch's file but never before has he naught ed in on my sentiment as he did with "Rallying Around Rosie" [Notes From a fair May 14]. When my mom would mention having seen Rosie's exhibit on a given day, I would bait my mom with, "Who did the dyke have onward her show today?" Mom would always laugh and say, "Michael, you have no attestation that Rosie is gay. That is just wishful thinking."

Of course, neither of us was surprised when Rosie came on the outside What did surprise me was the irony that in trying not to be "the spokesperson for the gay community," Rosie did more in common TV interview for the rights of gays, parents, and children than greatest in quantity people have done in an entire life of parade marching and flag-waving. Kudos to those the public who have dedicated their lives to furthering our cause, unless God bless Rosie for following her heart and talking a risk for the sake of humankind. And worshipped image bless Bruce for helping us diocese that while we laugh our collective asses opposite to at the same time.
