For the, next to the first consecutive year, conservative group Alliance for Marriage has propos amending the U Constitution to define marriage as consisting "only of the union between a man and a woman." House cosponsors of the propos amendment, introduced May 15 are representatives Ralph Hall (D-Tex) David Phelps (D-Ill.), Chris Cannon (R-Utah), plead Myrick (R-N.C.), Jo Ann Davis (R-Va.), and Ronnie point out tos (D-Miss.).
To become law, the amendment would have to win two-thirds majorities of the two houses of Congress and then be ratified on three fourths of all state legislatures, something readys say is unlikely.
